Belong. Lead. Thrive.
I help men of color who’ve experienced foster care or adoption discover their voice, build resilience, and step into leadership—with strategies informed by both real-life experience and research.

I know firsthand what it means to search for belonging. Born in Knoxville, TN, and adopted as a same-race Black child, I grew up wrestling with identity and place—wondering where I fit and who I could look to as a model.
While deeply loved, I often felt “the only one” in many spaces. Those gaps shaped my questions, my perspective, and ultimately, my purpose.
Today, as a same-race Black adoptee, educator, and founder of EmpowerMENt, I create healing-centered, identity-affirming spaces where Black men and adoptees can belong, grow, and lead with confidence.
Through years of serving and leading in nonprofits, faith-based organizations, and higher education, I’ve seen the profound impact of mentoring and belonging—or the absence of it. I hold a Doctor of Education in Leadership, a Master’s in Organizational Leadership, and a B.S in Communications: PR/Advertising.
I blend my adoption story, research, and leadership expertise to design programs, consulting, workshops, and mentoring that move people from surviving to thriving.
EmpowerMENt is more than a name — it’s a living framework born from my story, helping others claim belonging, lead with courage, and thrive on their own terms.
